Minted Lamb Burgers with Homemade Tzatziki & Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients

For the minted lamb burgers

500g Welsh lamb mince (from your Butchery Bocs meat box) or Pre made Minted Lamb Burgers

1 small red onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

A small handful fresh mint leaves, chopped

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt & black pepper

Olive oil (for shaping & cooking)

For the tzatziki

½ cucumber, grated

200g Greek yoghurt

1 garlic clove, crushed

A handful fresh mint, chopped

Juice of ½ lemon

Pinch of salt

For the sweet potato fries

2 large sweet potatoes, cut into thin chips

1 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp smoked paprika

Salt & pepper

To serve

Burger buns

Lettuce, sliced tomato, red onion rings

Optional: extra mint leaves or feta crumbles

Method

 

Make the tzatziki

Place the grated cucumber in a clean tea towel or kitchen paper and squeeze out excess water.

In a bowl, combine cucumber, Greek yoghurt, garlic, chopped mint, lemon juice & a pinch of salt.

Mix well and chill until needed.

 

Prepare the fries

Heat oven to 200°C (180°C fan).

Toss sweet potato chips with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt & pepper.

Spread on a baking tray in a single layer.

Bake for 25–30 mins, turning halfway, until golden & crispy.

 

Make the minted lamb burgers

In a bowl, combine lamb mince, red onion, garlic, chopped mint, oregano, salt & pepper.

Mix well, then shape into 4 burger patties.

Brush lightly with olive oil.

Cook the burgers

Heat a grill pan or BBQ over medium-high heat.

Cook burgers for 4–5 mins each side, or until nicely browned & cooked through.

Let rest for a couple of minutes.

 

Build your burgers

Toast burger buns lightly.

Add lettuce, tomato & red onion.

Top with the minted lamb burger & a generous spoonful of tzatziki.

Sprinkle with extra mint or feta if you like.

 

Serve up

Plate alongside your crispy sweet potato fries.

Dig in while everything’s hot & juicy!

Tips & swaps

Add a little crumbled feta into your burger mix for extra creaminess.

Use brioche buns for a sweeter finish.

If you like heat, add a pinch of chilli flakes to the lamb or sprinkle over the fries.
